Extended open-rules desk

Longer notes around the open rules you already use—without inventing a new SRD

EX SRD complements lean SRD desks with deeper essays: how to build a reference stack, teach only the diff from a player's last game, and keep attribution blocks honest. Orientation and documentation craft. We do not invent products, licenses, seals, or fake SRD editions.

Start with Getting Started, skim the Guides hub, or browse Resources when you need outbound references like SRD.

What this desk is for

Open-rules work stalls when tables juggle five mirrors, teaching becomes a lecture, or someone invents an "extended SRD" that does not exist. We write longer explainers for those traps—and we refuse to invent editions.

Prefer primary documents and publisher legal pages. Starts: SRD overview, 5th Edition SRD reference, and Creative Commons concepts. History is not permission.

If a third-party PDF claims to be an official extended SRD, verify on a publisher domain before you cite it. Literacy includes skepticism.

Guides, Glossary, and Resources go deeper. Sibling desks cover speed (srdfast), cite basics (srdcrate), and campaign/high-tier craft (srdepics / epicsrd).

Stack-sized prep

One ordered reference list, one teaching diff, and an attribution reminder—before you paste.

Extended vocabulary

Open the glossary when reference stacks, closed-fiction boundaries, or compatibility claims derail a newcomer.

Librarian doors

Norms and starting doors on the community page.

How we write

Date your reference stack order and teaching diffs. Co-authors inherit documentation.

Motifs can brief a night. They are not a shopping list you must empty onto the table.

Cite SRD revisions and freelancers in every attribution block you share.
